If Wordpress was a tool, it would be a swiss army knife. By far it's the most flexible and capable web platform available today. Regardless of how complex your business needs may be, Wordpress is up to the challenge.
When to consider Wordpress
There aren't a lot of businesses which aren't a good fit for Wordpress. It's expandable and can be customized to fit any needs. Regardless of what sort of website you're looking to run, Wordpress is a good choice.
Wordpress has a bevy of available apps to customize it's functionality to fit your needs. Looking for an appointment scheduler for your service-based business? Not a problem. Need to configure a learning-management-system for your human resources company? Easy peasy.
If you're looking for full control over your website, Wordpress can be hosted with almost any website hosting provider. This gives you the most options and control over how your website is run.
When to consider something else
With all of this customizability, comes a lot of complexity. Wordpress isn't the most user-friendly system and requires a lot of upkeep. If you're looking for a simple website that doesn't need ongoing maintenance, you're better off using another platform.
